Culture the area assigned in class.
The following areas were assigned:
Aseptically, which means without contaminating, the swab remove any packaging and open the swab.
Roll the swab in the area you are culturing so that all surfaces of the swab come in contact with the specimen.
Replace the specimen in the protective carrier.
When inoculating the plates rub the swab across the top quadrant of the plate. Be sure to roll the swab.
Use the swab to spread the inoculum to the other areas of the plate.
