Can be used to replace a low score on a case study.
For this project you select one or two other people to dramatize a given infection. The drama also acts as a review of given infections in order to remind ourselves of important points prior to the final.
One partner can be the patient, one partner can be the physician, and one partner can be the lab technologist.
Select a disease that is very interesting to you. Do not tell anyone else in the class what the disease is. Prepare to dramatize the illness. The patient should display all the symptoms. The doctor should be able to answer questions asked by the class. The lab tech should have pictures of lab tests, media, and gram stains to show the class. Remember this is a drama, dress, look, and act the part. The presentation should take less than 10 minutes. Sign up with the instructor when you have decided on your etiologic agent.
