Note for fall 2012 semester students:

Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: 2010book.jpgYou should check your BC email for important class information, starting one week before the fall semester begins.  The fall 2012 semester begins Monday, August 20.

The ISBN for the book is: 978-1-4390-7838-9 and the title is Microsoft Office 2010 Introductory by Shelly and Vermaat.  It is the same book I used for the spring 2012 semester.  Also, you do not need Vista or Windows 7 for an operating system, but should have at least the Microsoft XP operating system.

The text can be bought at the Bakersfield College bookstore, or another possibility is from the publisher at coursedirect.com and make sure you use the ISBN number for the book I mentioned above.  There are also possibilities of purchasing the text through other online websites as well.  I will not accept any older text for this class, as they all refer to Microsoft Office 2007 Professional software, or older.

You also MUST use Microsoft Office 2010 Professional software for this class.  I will not accept any computer lab homework submitted using any earlier versions of Office, and I do check.  If you have Microsoft Office 2007 Professional, we can discuss whether or not this will work.

Please read the Should You Take an Online Class? link first, to make sure you have all the required computer access necessary for this class, and other tips for success for this type of class.  Another good link is http://www.bc.cc.ca.us/distance_learning/BCOnlineSurvivalGuide.pdf , although some of the material in the link doesn’t apply to this class (such as this class doesn’t use Etudes), it still has some very informative information.
