Dates For F/F 1 Applications

Olive Drive provided the applications to us the end of last week, they are now available. Once the applications are available they can be picked up at the Olive Drive Fire Training Facility and or Bakersfield College (at the Fire Tech. office Wiell Institute). They can only be returned on the date described in the packet, and they must be returned  to Janet Mason at the Olive Drive Fire Training Facility located at 5642 Victor Street, Bakersfield, CA. 93309, no later than Oct. 26nd between 7:30am & 4:00 pm. The physical agility test will be the CPAT it will be held tentative on 11-12-11, at the Olive Drive Fire Training Facility. Note: if you have a current CPAT card dated January 4, 2011 you do not have to take the CPAT, you must show your current CPAT certification card when turning in your application.

Students are discouraged from consuming any drink containing caffeine, as this may keep your pulse rate and B/P abnormally high after the physical agility test is over. See your packet for specific information. 

The Firefighter I academy will start in the spring of 2012, Fees will be approximately $600.00 for uniforms, and equipment and tuition. Course length will be from January to May, and will meet on Monday, Wednesday, evenings 6:00 to 10:00 pm, and weekends Sat. & Sun. 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Total semester units are 8. This academy is recognized by and meets the California State Fire Training and Education Services certified training program. This academy meets the instructional requirements for a CFSTES Fire Fighter 1 certificate. Students have one year to complete an EMT class after graduation from the fire academy, note: EMT will be a pre-requisite to apply for next years F/F 1 Academy.
